John Nelson Darby and others on the True Church, its Perfection, its Ruin and Church Experience

JJ N Darbyohn Nelson Darby, an honoured servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, like many bemoaned the state of Christendom – its sects, its human organisation and its earthly outlook. Clericalism – hierarchical church leadership with the leadership of an assembly in a single person, was not of God. From scripture, he perceived that the true Church – Christ’s bride was heavenly and perfect. The way out for Christians cannot be by reforming or rebuilding, but by separating from what is evil, and in grace serving the Lord in simplicity.

He wrote some well-known papers on ‘The Faith once delivered to the saints’ and many other works covering how we can gather, and many others on the Church as the body of Christ, the public ruin, the evils of clericalism, and how to handle difficulties.

adayofsmallthings.com has summarised some of these. Please see the index below.
